KINGDOM HEARTS is a joint project between Squaresoft and Disney Interactive. (Spooooilers ahead) Ansem is the main villain of Kingdom Hearts. He was the ruler of Hollow Bastion (the world where all the Final Fantasy characters came from. Thirsting for knowledge and wishing to help his people, he started to study Heartless, shadowlike creatures born from darkness, but he slowly began to become corrupted. He even experimented with his own body, he went so far he lost his mortal body, he then decided to send Kairi, a special girl, into another world hoping she would lead him to the Keyblade master (that's how she ended on the Destiny Islands). Being without a body, you first see him as a cloaked figure, until he takes over the body of our dear Riku becoming the elegant, detached, aristocratic man you see on the left :P.
