BASTARD!! (1987 - ), by Kazushi Hagiwara, is a sci-fi fantasy manga (japanese comic) strongly influenced by metal (quite every name reminds at least a band or a singer\musician).
The story's hero, Dark Schneider, is a powerfull egoist lascivious wizard who (with his shitennou, his four generals) had attempted to conquered the world fifteen years before our story began, He failed however and when he attempted to reincarnate in a child body, the high priest Geo Nort Sort of Meta Likana confined him in the body of the little Rusie. Rusie will be raised with Yoko, Geo's daughter, and his affection for her will affect even the murderous wizard within him. When the kindom is attacked by the ex-followers of Dark Schneider, the shitennou, the last hope is relase the powerful wizard that, for is love for yoko, will help to defend Meta-likana and even more...
BASTARD!! is currently up to volume 22 (June, 2001) and has been animated as a six-part OAV series. Kazushi Hagiwara has recenlty worked on a new, even more beautiful, edition of bastard. The Artbook "Nude" contains a lot of images from Bastard!! and campus Guardress (another work by Hagiwara sensei, It can be found easily on ebay or such sites where you can find also the videogame for playstation (only in japanese)
